NZTA – Watchman Road Project

By June 22, 2020No Comments

The Watchman Road Project was a large-scale project involving coordination with NZTA, mana whenua and many other stakeholders. A section of State Highway in Napier, Hawkes Bay was an extremely high crash zone and a design was proposed to improve the road and entrance into the city’s airport. This was a unique project as it had many recreational and environmental situations which had to be considered; the new road cut through the middle of an existing wetland. This project involved many disciplines required in a tactical urbanism approach such as community involvement through co-design, workshop facilitation and iwi engagement.
