Community Facilities Strategy

The Community Facilities Strategy (CFS) provided direction for decision making, development and management of community facilities in the Waikato District, including tasks such as investment and divestment frameworks for Council staff.

The strategy considered the following facilities:

  • public toilets
  • aquatics
  • community halls
  • community hubs and libraries
  • sport facilities and pavilions

Our team supported engagement with the community through surveys and in-person drop in sessions to ensure the community voice was heard and reflected in the outcomes of the CFS.

The final strategy will be supported by facility specific action plans which will be managed and developed by Council staff.

Project Benefit

The Community Facilities Strategy (CFS) was a key piece of work completed by Xyst which provides strategic direction for Council-owned or administrated community facilities over the next 20 years, from 2024 to 2044.
