My expertise

My background is in environmental land management and arboriculture. I grew up surrounded by animals and nature and have always had an interest in how our land is managed. After a stint overseas, I studied Environmental Science and started working in natural resource management roles in 2007. This sparked an interest in trees, and in 2015 I studied arboriculture and went on to work as a consulting arborist for five years.

My passion is managing our parks and open spaces using a green asset management approach. I have extensive experience developing tree management plans and risk management strategies for Councils and other agencies. I have collected data for large scale tree inventories, and used tools such as iTree Eco to help Councils better understand and communicate the benefits their trees provide the environment and people.  A key part of my work has included working closely with asset managers to develop practical and achievable plans to allow for informed, consistent and balanced tree management decisions.
