Western Bay of Plenty District Council – Trail Survey 2020

By February 15, 2021 No Comments

Xyst was commissioned by Western Bay of Plenty District Council to undertake a 10-day survey, during late December 2020, in order to gain user information on the Omokoroa to Tauranga Cycleway.  Of the 199 people surveyed, both online and face-to-face on the cycleway, more than 93.5% were either satisfied or very satisfied with their experience on this trail.  Using our Yardstick program, we surveyed at five different locations en route and were able to provide Council with useful data and some very positive feedback.  There were also concerns or suggestions for future improvement raised, including more drinking water stations, improved trail surfaces in some areas and better signage.  Trail safety, cleanliness and lack of litter were the most important features and users identified health and fitness, relaxation and enjoyment of scenery as their main reasons for being on the trail.
